The Solution
Whirligig, a stylish and sustainable alternative energy task lamp. Utilizing kinetic energy by cranking the light post, the lamp is self-sufficient and self-contained - which means no annoying cords leading off the edge of your desk or table top. The LEDs used are ultra bright white & have a 100,000 hour life - 11 years of continuous 24-hour-a-day use!

Power: AC alternator driven by cranking the light post, plus 3.6v of rechargable Ni-MH batteries
Light: 3 ultra-bright white 5mm LEDs
Shine: 60 seconds cranking = one hour shine-time
Dimensions: base diameter of 8.5”, 16” tall from base to top of lamp
Materials: hand-turned poplar parts, durable metal lamp post, and strong, enforced plastic gears
